Inside a gorgeous West Coast inspired home on Chicago’s North Shore

modern home exterior

Massey Associates Architects together with Andrea Goldman Design has captured the essence of California living in this home nestled on nearly an acre of property in the village of Glencoe, part of Chicago’s North Shore. Created to cater to the owner’s love of entertaining, the design of this dwelling prioritizes the flow of indoor-outdoor living.

Floor-to-ceiling windows emphasize the connection of the house to the rest of the property, and a standout three-season room—with retractable glass walls and a wood-burning fireplace—is the anchor of the home. Clean lines and neutral hues paired with subtle layering of materials and textures create an environment with depth and interest while maintaining the homeowners’ desired contemporary aesthetic.
