Design-build firm Everything Home has created this Scandinavian modern home with luxurious living spaces, nestled in Westfield, a city in Hamilton County, Indiana. This dwelling is set against a breathtaking natural backdrop with magnificent views. The home’s exterior architecture and the Scandinavian style, which skillfully balances comfort and minimalism, served as the main sources of inspiration.

The design team sought to evoke the Danish concept of ‘hygge’—fostering well-being and creating a living environment that promotes feelings of warmth, contentment, and coziness, without excessive ornamentation or clutter. Clean lines, minimal decoration, soaring ceilings, and walls of glazing serve as the foundation of the design, complemented by warm finishes, textures, striking light fixtures, and carefully curated art pieces.

A single statement wall was created in the living room using the four-sided, two-story fireplace chase. This effect was achieved by enveloping it with a large-format marble tile, highlighting the use of organic elements in a bold manner.

Thoughtful consideration was given to lighting selections throughout the space. Beautiful fixtures, which also serve as artistic statements, were carefully selected, exemplified by those suspended over the kitchen island. Conversely, some lighting sources were designed to blend into ceilings and drywall, providing illumination while allowing the views of Mother Nature to be the focal point.
