Duet Design Group together with Soda Mountain Carpentry has completely transformed this mountain retreat that is located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When a repeat client of the designers purchased their dream “home away from home” retreat, they were ecstatic to take on the project. With fantastic original bones infused with some of their innovative design ideas, the designers transformed this once-average spec home of 5,716 square feet into a stunning customized mountain dwelling.
Mixing metals and modern design elements into an existing typical mountain home environment was a must to lighten and open up the spaces. Creating unique and cozy spaces throughout this home allowed the designers to be innovative with textiles, lighting, and specialized furnishings. The best part of this entire project for the project team was the heartfelt thank you that came from the family after they saw their new vacation home for the first time. Tour the remodel below, which includes some before/after photos!
What We Love: This dreamy mountain retreat in Steamboat Springs offers a family a fabulous place to get away from it all. Surrounded by a tranquil forested setting, this home seems to maximize views from every direction. Living spaces were designed for family gatherings and for lounging in more intimate spaces when family members require downtime. We are especially loving the main level deck with its amazing views and floor-to-ceiling fireplace.
Tell Us: What do you think of the overall renovation of this mountain-dwelling? If this was your home, would you change any details in the design? Share your thoughts in the Comments!
