Woodridge Custom Homes together with Jessica Nelson Design has completed this dreamy weekend retreat surrounded by the scenic Cascade Mountains in the enchanting resort town of Suncadia, Washington. Created for an adventurous family of four, this 5,000-square-foot dwelling has a traditional aesthetic, yet harmoniously blends with its breathtaking mountainous surroundings.
Drawing inspiration from the earthy tones that mirror the area’s inherent splendor, the designer diligently crafted a profoundly personal atmosphere in close collaboration with the family. Taking a year-and-a-half to complete, the dwelling offers warmth and character throughout. Continue below to see the rest of this inviting home…
Above: Stepping into the entry, you will find the exquisite craftsmanship of the custom front door sourced from Old World Door. The vintage rug adorning the floor adds a touch of nostalgia, perfectly complemented by the elegant console and enchanting lamps that illuminate the space with their timeless allure.
The owners desired a dreamy retreat in the Cascade Mountains where they could warmly welcome their loved ones. They longed for a family-friendly home that exudes hospitality and warmth. With the bedrooms and bathrooms thoughtfully designed based on the family’s travel experiences, each space pays homage to their shared love for mountain climbing.
As a testament to their adventures, the designer went the extra mile by crafting bespoke signage for each door, proudly displaying names like “The Highlands,” “Kilimanjaro,” and “Patagonia.”
Above: Commanding attention in the kitchen is the custom stone hood with a backsplash of hand-crafted zellige tiles. To create a striking contrast against the deep gray cabinetry, stone, and wood elements, the designer opted for unlacquered brass hardware and plumbing, adding a touch of opulence. The expansive soapstone island acts as a serving space for family gatherings, a seamless blend of functionality and timeless elegance.
