A year-long endeavor by Kandrac & Kole Interior Design this project entailed a complete gut renovation of a lakeside cottage situated on Lake Santeetlah in Robbinsville, North Carolina. The designer and her family finds solace in this retreat, which serves as a tranquil sanctuary away from their bustling Atlanta lives.
Encompassing 2,400 square feet of living space, there are three bedrooms and three bathrooms in this dwelling. The front entrance features a yellow Pella door, board and batten vinyl siding and exposed wood beam details.
Above: The walls in the living room are painted in Pure White SW 7005 and the trim is City Loft SW 7631. The end table is from Uttermost and the lamp is from Currey and Company. The floors are a wood-look luxury vinyl flooring. Grounding this space, the area rug is a Stanton wool rug cut to size.
Above: Farmhouse design decor features shiplap walls. The art cow painting by artist Dawn Raulet is echoed in the patterns of cowhide rugs brought into balance with a simple fireplace design.
With walls rearranged and every area thoughtfully reimagined, the primary focus was to optimize functionality.
What We Love: This lakeside cottage in North Carolina exudes warmth and comfort, thanks to the infusion of shiplap accents, exquisite walnut details, carefully selected vintage furniture, and captivating Indian textiles thoughtfully incorporated by the designer.
