This mountain cabin has undergone a stunning renovation by ACM Design Architects in collaboration with Brock Builders, located in Asheville, North Carolina. A masterclass in packing a ton of character into a small space, this cozy cabin boasts beautiful hardwoods, exposed beams, shiplap, and rustic accents throughout.
Nestled into a quiet wooded neighborhood, the main residence on this property had been meticulously transformed from a 1960s split level into a quaint Arts and Crafts treasure. However, the garage apartment was desperately lacking character on the interior. The new owners commissioned the architects to transform the space from a cramped home office into a luxurious guest retreat with an abundance of natural light, rich wood textures, and crisp modern appointments.

Walls of pristine white nickel gap contrast beautifully with oiled hardwood floors, rustic reclaimed barnwood, exposed raw timbers, and a built-in live-edge desk.
Birchbark paneling frames the bedroom’s large window seat, adding yet another dimension to the wide variety of rich wood textures.
Within the dining room, a specially constructed wine bar integrates an oval window into a decorative extension of the bar’s stone countertop.
