This beautiful modern home was interior designed by Chango & Co., located in Sag Harbor, a village on Long Island, New York. The homeowner desired light and airy living spaces, with a palette of creamy colors, natural textures, and softness in general. They gave the design team carte blanche for the project, so the designer’s goal was to bring in something new and different into the home.
For the walls, instead of using traditional drywall, it is all limewash. It adds a richness to the space that paint cannot. It changes through the hours of the day and changes the character that the sunlight brings to the space. You get streaks of movement of light where the walls seem to come alive in a really beautiful way.

All of the furnishings were custom designed by the designer to fit the living spaces so that they could control the aesthetics and the scale.
What We Love: This beautiful modern home is for the most part very neutral, but there are some hidden pops of color that are so playful. We are especially loving the gorgeous fireplace in the living room and the curvilinear and rectilinear forms throughout… and the amazing limewash walls. The natural light is also wonderful and how it plays off the walls throughout the day. For a carte blanche project, the designers did a fabulous job of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The treatment on the wall is limewash paint, which is known for its chalky, nuanced texture and old-world origins. It is one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly treatments you can apply to your walls.
