This authentic Colorado mountain house was renovated entirely by Beth Levine Architect in collaboration with UlfBuilt, located in Cordillera, a neighborhood in Eagle County, Colorado. Inspired by historical Colorado mountain cabins, the architect brought meaning and focus to the new home design.
Like quaint mountain cabins, the dining room became the heart of the home. To increase the home’s natural light, large sliding window doors were installed allowing the dining room and deck to become one.

Entering this warm and inviting mountain home you will find rustic details at every turn, including materials of stone and wood.
The architectural designs were enhanced by artistry and craftsmanship. Natural light, high ceilings, exposed wood beams, and a mix of metal and natural stones successfully gave this dwelling a mountain cabin vibe with a modern twist.
Knotty alder cabinets, chestnut oak wood flooring, and a variety of woods were used to complete the mountain home aesthetic.
What We Love: A beautiful renovation brought the house from a slick, California feeling to an incredible majestic, yet cozy, mountain splendor. We are loving the overall aesthetics of this home, from the spectacular views to the beautiful finishes, furnishings, and materials palette. Our favorite room in this home is the living room, with its inviting stone-clad fireplace and sliding panel doors that open out to a large deck and amazing mountain views.

Above: This design brought meaning and focus to the house by making the dining room into the heart of the home, like a quaint old cabin with which the new house grew around.
A new billiards room was designed directly below the dining room, creating the same central focus for both levels. The project team creatively used Bourbon oak barrels for the wooden wall around the billiards room. Which allows the light to flow between the pool room and family room creating privacy and unity.
