Brianna Michelle Interior Design is responsible for the interiors of this modern coastal chic house nestled on the shores of a coveted, private chain of lakes in Florida. Created for a family of four, living spaces were designed with luxurious sophistication paired with modest simplicity.
The owner’s goal was to create an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, providing plenty of space for entertaining. The design began with bifold doors that stretch the length of the house. The focus was on creating soothing living environments with open-air spaces. It needed to have a sense of balance and boundaries, maximizing the location while providing a private oasis within the dwelling.
Above: The LaCantina bifold doors and windows enable the living area to completely open up to the sun-drenched poolside terrace.
Above: The cocktail table is comprised of a thick walnut top and brushed steel legs. The table is adorned with stacks of architectural design books and a vase filled with greenery. A pair of swivel back chairs are perfect for changing the view toward the lake where retractable doors open to fresh breezes off the lake.
What We Love: This coastal chic house features beautiful organic materials that help to bring texture and warmth to the clean lines of this dwelling. An abundance of natural light can be found throughout courtesy of the seamless indoor/outdoor connection from the bifold doors running the length of this home. Overall, this aesthetically pleasing home offers its inhabitants a relaxing atmosphere with idyllic lakeside views.

The water and light help to create a natural luminosity and interesting shade patterns over the course of the day.
The placement of kids’ bedrooms was an important part of the design. They will eventually become teenagers and the parents wanted their rooms to pass by theirs on the way down the stairs.
