With easy entry courtyard access, the main level features an open “mountain room” connecting a spacious bedroom suite to the east, with an open kitchen, dining, view deck, screened porch, and mud/pantry/garage to the west. A private office is accessed above the master suite, with long-range views “through the oaks”.

Capturing the “mountain zen” requested by the owners, in stone, glass, and natural siding, the design embraces the four-season experience of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

What We Love: This wonderful mountain home offers its occupants a zen-like living experience. Interior spaces have expansive walls of glazing that frame breathtaking views over the Blue Ridge Mountains. A beautiful material palette of stone and wood adds a rustic touch to the interiors, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, we are loving the location of this home with its fresh mountain air and relaxed vibe.

Custom details can be found throughout the home, including the ceilings, fireplace surrounds, cabinetry details, light fixtures, tile, and stone accents. The homeowner’s existing furnishings, artwork, and decor were placed throughout, mixed with new items sourced from North Carolina-based manufacturers, vendors, artists, and artisans.

Neutral backgrounds are incorporated with a variety of warm wood tones, and pops of accent color can be changed out over time. The magnificent mountain views take center stage in each room and can be seen through the glass of the custom front entry doors.
