Architectural Design, nestled on a two-and-a-half-acre property in Wheaton, a distinctive community just west of Chicago, Illinois. The exterior facade is clad with white vertical board and batten siding, Wisconsin limestone, black metal windows, and an aluminum standing seam metal roof.
The couple has five grown children and instead of downsizing for their new home, they instead opted to construct a large house to encourage their kids to come for a visit. What We Love: This modern farmhouse dream home built for empty nesters offers an attractive exterior facade that is super welcoming. The back of this facade is equally exquisite with the wrap-around terrace patio, inviting lounging spaces, and a fantastic swimming pool for the owners and their guests. Overall, we are loving the design of this home, from the gorgeous chef’s kitchen to the soaring ceilings in the light-filled great room.

Above: In this luminous kitchen, the custom cabinetry is by Liam Brex, complimented by Iceberg Quartzite countertops sourced from Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies. The exquisite backsplash is Calacatta Gold marble with a brass inlay from Virginia Tile.
Above: In the main bedroom, an elegant accent wall features a wallcovering in a silver-colored chevron in real wood veneer by Omexco. The upholstered headboard is sourced from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, complimented by timeless Graydon Shagreen Closed Nightstands (shagreen-embossed leather) from Restoration Hardware.
On the upper level, the designer went bold, keeping the guest in mind. Lining the staircase wall is a set of colorful jumbo jacks, adding a playful touch and setting the tone. At the top of the staircase landing is a guest lounge, decorated with a graphic silk wallcovering.
