Pearson Design Group in collaboration with Lohss Construction has designed this timber frame ranch retreat located in the mountains of Bozeman, Montana. The dwelling is nestled along Limestone Creek, where the national forest meets rangeland. This property has historically been an agricultural area.
The architects described this retreat’s design as “being both a comfortable, modern place for recreation and a place that has stood the test of time and could have been here for 100 years or more. Our vision is to pursue the emotional, poetic moments that our clients really care about. It’s the wow factor, the visual effect, the great views that homeowners want.”
The windows appear to be etched into the timber-frame structure and inset into the stone. The residence incorporates reclaimed and new wood on the ceilings and floors, interior walls, and exterior cladding. Stone also appears inside and out, on walls, floors, and pathways. It has an intrinsically agrarian feel, created with regional and natural materials.
