Clark + Green together with Jess Cooney Interiors have designed this inviting farm house situated in Monterey, a town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The original farmhouse on this property was scheduled for a complete overhaul when it was unfortunately lost to an electrical fire. Working with the owners, the project team imagined a new five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home on the original footprint.

They dramatically improved the floor plan for a more efficient flow while increasing natural light from what the previous home had. It was important to the owners to bring back some of the elements they had loved about the previous home. This included wide plank reclaimed flooring, a large hand-built fireplace, and antique barn beams that are reminiscent of a historic Berkshire home.

Plaster walls throughout soften the interior and give an overall glow to the space. Several of the furnishings throughout the interiors were custom-designed and locally fabricated. Window treatments and custom upholstery layered the space to create a timeless feel.

What We Love: This inviting farm house has been beautifully reimagined by the project team to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere for family living. The designer did a fantastic job of color flow and light. We love the mix of rustic elements and contemporary pieces — new and old. This home feels modern and fresh all while maintaining a sense of history and authentic character. We would feel right at home living here, how about you?

Ensuite bathrooms throughout the upstairs bedrooms enhance the comfort of the home and give guests a place to tuck away on their Berkshire visit. Custom sinks are made from Pietra Cardosa, while the light fixtures above the vanity are from Rejuvenation. Medicine cabinets were sourced from Restoration Hardware.
