This lakeside family retreat was designed by SALA Architects in collaboration with Lucy Interior Design, nestled along Lake Huron, Michigan. Lake Huron is the Great Lake that forms Michigan’s mitten shape right next to Canada. It has the longest shoreline of the Great Lakes.
Constructed on the original footprint of a previous structure, this lakeside haven re-emerges as a quietly spectacular retreat for family and friends. With the assistance of a 23-foot folding door, the assembled activities of the soaring great room – cooking, dining, and living – flow seamlessly outward onto the screened porch and down to the shore below.
