Lauren Nelson Design is responsible for the complete transformation of this serene waterfront retreat with light and airy interiors, situated in Stinson Beach, California. The family’s primary residence is in San Francisco. They sought to have a retreat for spending time gathering together while enjoying water activities and collecting shells. The interiors are adorned with seashells, beach glass, and even driftwood — used as inspiration for the material palette. All the finishes and accessories exude an organic feel, offering subtle patterns and hues from the surrounding landscape.
Steve Wisenbaker Architects were commissioned to help the designer preserve the existing framework of this beach house. They opened up the kitchen area while creating additional bedrooms. The materials were kept simple, focusing on high-end finishes that are durable for family living and entertaining. Ultimately, the project team worked together to bring selections together that reflect a lived-in aesthetic. Continue below for this inspiring home tour…
