This unabashedly contemporary house with bold geometries was designed by Polsky Perlstein Architects, overlooking Sausalito and archetypal views of the Golden Gate Bridge in Belvedere, California. This affluent neighborhood features a temperate climate, where the fog that covers San Francisco generally does not come this way, making it perfect for indoor-outdoor living.
The owners of this custom dream home requested that their space capture light, maximize the surrounding views, and celebrate their life together. The home is connected to the outdoors on both levels, with the main level having extensive windows and doors that open to a spacious terrace that showcases pristine views from the Golden Gate Bridge to Mt Tamalpais.
The entryway into the home is a stunning elliptical volume that features a winding staircase with a glass handrail for transparency. If you look up, you will notice a cove ceiling that is painted in a dramatic purple hue with a suspended glass disk chandelier that can be seen from outside. This central hallway connects to the office hallway, kitchen, great room, and up the staircase to the owner’s bedroom suite.

This contemporary dream house provides an open plan living and dining room with extensive glazing that not only features breathtaking views out to the bay, but also slides open to expand the space out onto a suspended terrace. The focal point of the living space is its eight foot long gas strip fireplace, creating a fabulous ambiance in the evening.
This sleek kitchen features glass sliding pocked doors that disappear into the wall, creating a nice indoor-outdoor connection that flows out onto a private terrace with a spa and fireplace. The kitchen island features a striking back-lit onyx, a showpiece to the space.
The main level also features a hallway that leads to his and hers offices, both with their own bathrooms. There is also a glass-enclosed wine room, an AV room and a garage that has car lifts that can accommodate up to four cars.
