This beautiful contemporary farmhouse style home was designed by Nick Noyes Architecture, located in the city of Healdsburg, in Sonoma County, California. The residence is nestled on Fitch Mountain, boasting panoramic views of the beautiful Alexander Valley. The dwelling consists of four metal-roofed gabled structures, which are connected by an open breezeway and a transparent entry. The buildings consist of one for the living and dining area, one with the children’s bedrooms, another for the master bedroom suite and the fourth is the garage. Passageways are custom fabricated from a steel window and door system.
Above: The windows used on this home are Marvin casement windows – clad on the exterior with wood on the interiors.
This 3,667 square foot home consists of four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. The heating and cooling is achieved through a conventional forced air system – it is aided by passive solar techniques such as shading on the southern exposures, thermal mass, appropriate solar orientation, operable windows and cross ventilation, etc.
Above: The exterior of this home consists of Hardie Board lap siding – square edge – primed. The roofing material is corrugated Galvalume, which is a better product than standard sheet metal, as it is very durable.
What We Love: This beautiful contemporary farmhouse features touches of glamour and industrial design. This was achieved through glam elements incorporated into the decor, such as a velvet upholstered sofa in the living room. While industrial elements such as the black metal tie rods used to stabilize the home—offers both functional and decorative purposes….
