This striking modern retreat was designed by architecture studio Workshop/APD, located on Nantucket, a tiny, isolated island off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. As stated by the architects,”this residence is the essence of modern architecture and design set within the traditional vernacular of Nantucket.”
From the exterior facade of this two story property, the cedar shingle-style architecture is typical of the region. It creates a warm and welcoming, cottage-like aesthetic. The outdoor spaces are ultra-inviting, with a spot for dining al-fresco and comfortable furnishings around an open fire pit. The swimming pool is conveniently set off the great room, offering this space beautiful views of the outdoors. Bifold french doors opens this space up to the outside, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
What We Love: This spectacular modern retreat features stylish furnishings and a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is a wonderful indoor-outdoor connection throughout this home. Designed with bright and airy living spaces and spacious outdoor areas that are perfect for entertaining family and friends… and judging by the size of the wine room, it appears as if these homeowners really love to entertain! Readers, what are your thoughts on the design of this property? Anything you would have liked to have seen done differently?
