This modern waterfront property was designed by Blaze Makoid Architecture, located on a two-acre site in North Haven, a village in Suffolk County, New York. The challenge for this project was for the architects to create a design that would take full advantage of the views across Sag Harbor Bay. The design plan also needed to maximize daylight throughout the day, while increasing natural light through outdoor entertaining areas in the backyard.

Spread out over two levels, this sumptuous home consists of 7,500 square feet of living space, with a modern and open layout. The interiors are characterized by clean lines and a wonderful indoor-outdoor connection. The main entryway of this home leads guests under the second story bedroom wing and into an open air courtyard. From this point, you can see right through to the voluminous glass walled great room to the patio areas, pool and harbor beyond.

Here is further information about the scope of the project from the architect’s website: “Floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass panels open on both sides of the great room to create a true, indoor/outdoor lifestyle, while allowing the courtyard to expand the entertaining space to cater to large events.

A rooftop deck and outdoor fireplace over the one story wing allows for late day/early evening sunsets without interrupting views from any second level spaces. With 8 bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, additional highlights to this home includes a gym, office, family room and multiple outdoor living spaces. The structure is clad in a mixture of limestone panels, mahogany and glass.”
