This California dream home underwent an extensive renovation by Kristina Wolf Design, showcasing relaxing, transitional style living spaces for entertaining guests. This beautiful residence is complete with a swimming pool in the backyard and rolling vineyards not too far away. The homeowners originally came to the designers for paint recommendations for their newly purchased home. When they were ready to renovate, the design team was ready to assist them through the process of selecting every detail. The project goal was to create livable spaces that reflect a chic, contemporary aesthetic but where guests could feel comfortable and relaxed; all the while soaking in the incredible views that surrounds the home. In order to meet the last needs of the latter goal, walls and windows were torn down at the rear of the property. This alteration completely changed the look and feel of the space.
An open floor plan offers three individual spaces: the kitchen, a breakfast nook and a cozy family room. The designers wanted all of the spaces to be obviously defined yet still effortlessly flow from one to the next. Color was used as a common ground to connect the spaces, which now feel inviting and warm.

Above: The kitchen area is well-balanced, reflecting both light and dark hues. White cabinetry provides a stark contrast to the black quartz countertops. The island provides an opposite aesthetic, dark stained cabinets and white engineered stone countertops. This helps to give the kitchen a more customized appeal.
On the right, floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive sliding glass doors helps to bathe the home in natural light. This also helps to create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
Above: In the family room, the comfortable seating arrangement allows plenty of space for entertaining guests. The space also gives the homeowners a fantastic area to read and unwind. The design scheme of this room plays off of the horse properties and vineyards nearby.
