This gorgeous beach house design was stylishly crafted for family living by Ginger Barber Interior Design, located in Lafitte’s Point, in Galveston, Texas. The interiors portray an uncomplicated aesthetic, a mix of natural and textured materials. Designed with a neutral color palette, made up of solid whites, beiges and subtle repetitive patterns. Wanting to create a haven of relaxation, the designer uses restraint in her interiors scheme, refraining from visual overload. Its all about feeling comfort, warmth and a sense of calm. Each room begins with the floor. The designer loves to use area rugs in the homes she decorates. Seagrass is a favored option in this home, an excellent selection for those with kids and pets.
A less is more approach was used with the decor, things that are one of a kind. A stone or wood fragment, or some sort of relief work that can no longer be sourced. The use of material elements such as stone and wood is the designer’s preference, which can be seen in the flooring selections. While the fabric selections throughout the interiors are mainly cottons and linens. This layering of materials and textures helps to add to the beachy aesthetic, infusing the home with comfort and warmth.
What We Love: A warm beach house design is reflected throughout the interiors of this gorgeously styled home. The kitchen is one of our favorite rooms in this home. With the time-worn, weathered look of the wood flooring, mixed with ship-lap siding and exposed wooden beams. An unfussy, simple neutral palette and the beachy aesthetic of old mixed with new. The result: tranquil, relaxed and simply beautiful.
