A playfully designed loft space was given a full gut renovation and completely new interiors by Bricks Studio, located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This family home is comprised of 3,013 square feet (280 square meters) of living space, showcasing an eclectic mix of furnishings and decor. Soaring ceilings, concrete floors and exposed supports structures are characteristic of not only an industrial space, but the perfect recipe for a loft. The main living area features not only a swing suspended from the ceiling but also wood rings for a healthy dose of gymnastics in the privacy of your living room! In front of the window, there appears to be some climbing ropes, adding to the fun of this space. Built-in shelving features a wide array of books, decor and rare artifacts, as can be seen elsewhere in the home, it appears that the homeowners are collectors. In front of the shelves are wood ladders supported by a metal frame at the top. This would seem to be in keeping with the other playful elements, creating a balance of aesthetics and protecting these priceless items that lends character to the space.
An industrial kitchen features an expansive island with a large range for cooking. Bar stool chairs allows conversation with the cook as well as a casual space to have a snack. Open shelving on the wall enables the homeowners quick access to dishes and glassware. Wood countertops are perfect for durability and adds warmth into the space.
What We Love: The playful details, the interesting collections of art displayed on walls and shelves, soaring ceilings and use of wood elements to give warmth to the space. The master bedroom is pretty cool, if you scroll down you will notice a freestanding bathtub right in the bedroom, not a new concept, but always a fun one! What do you think, what do you find most intriguing about this loft?
