This timeless traditional style home was completed by interior design studio Michael Abrams Limited along with Mangan Builders, located in Chicago, Illinois. The design team was retained by a young couple who was starting a family, building a beautiful 5,000 square foot home for them to live in. The goal for the project was to create a comfortable living environment with functional spaces spread out over two levels. The result is a timeless interior with classic elements that are refreshing and inspired by the lifestyle needs of the homeowners. The designers completely furnished the interiors of the residence, creating beautiful architectural elements throughout. Accessories and artwork were also sourced for the clients to help create a harmonious design scheme that demonstrates throughly completed spaces.
The designer used Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige HC-45 throughout the main living spaces (the trim color is Benjamin Moore Mayonnaise OC-85), including the staircase walls and the hallway along the second floor bedrooms. The dining room and foyer on the first level were covered in a glass cloth wall treatment (Tempo Wallcovering by Larsen) that is used above the wainscoting. The bedrooms and bathrooms were decorated with various hues since they are separate spaces.

What We Love: How the warm and neutral color palette throughout the open floor plan, as well as the varying light fixtures creates a soothing ambiance and helps to draw your eye all over, creating a sense of spaciousness. The finished result is a very cozy family refuge that is both timeless and sophisticated, welcoming you home. What do you think of the interiors of this home? Please share your thoughts below!
