A fifth floor pre-war apartment has undergone a stunning overhaul of its interiors by CWB Architects, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. The urban home of a busy family of four, this 2,800 square foot property underwent a majorย overhaul thatย included a brand kitchen, all new bathroom, custom millwork and furnishings and a lighting system that highlights the owner’s extensive art collection. To allow the artwork and sculptural lines of the furnishings to be showcased, the design team selected a sophisticated and subdued color palette. The central gathering spot of the residence is the den, where the family enjoys spending time together conversing and watching movies. The spaceย presents itself as an area of warmth and tranquility, with a clean lined fireplace and firebox and neutral, soft furnishings.
A gallery wall in the dining/kitchen area showcases a personalized collection of family photos, making this space very welcoming and cozy. A functionally designed all white kitchen mixed is accented withย stainless steel appliances and light fixtures to create a sophisticated and modern aesthetic. The designers repeated the yellow from a piece of artwork in the living room into the dining room chairs, creating harmony. What do you think, does this design of this home appeal to you?
