This coastal cottage features modern, clean lines and a subdued color palette designed by Sunshine Coast Home Design, located in Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada. The home, titled ‘Seaglass Cottage’, is situated high atop a bluff overlooking the Gulf Islands. The concept of this fabulous 4,500-square-foot, four-bedroom beach house was inspired by the movie “Something’s Gotta Give”, where the homeowners were looking to capture the essence and style of the home.
The owners are a Canadian family of four who lives abroad in Bermuda and picked up this vacation home to spend their summers as well as spring break. The original cottage on the property was torn down to replace it with their vision of a dream cottage. They hired the interior design firm Kelly Deck Design to give them sophisticated and timeless interiors.
They were also looking for spaces where they could entertain family and friends both indoors and out. The exterior facade is clad with cedar shingle, with walls of windows and French doors that spill out to a wraparound deck. The result is luminous and airy interiors, blurring the lines between indoors and out and highlighting the breathtaking ocean views.
We just love this craftsman-style beach house, its elegance and timeless aesthetic make for a vacation retreat for anyone to enjoy…. and did we mention its outstanding location? The Sunshine Coast is one of British Columbia’s best-kept secrets, with great weather, and beautiful scenery. When can we come for a visit? What do you think, would you want to spend your vacation here?
