This prewar loft was designed by Raad Studio, located in Greenwich Village, a neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York. The interiors of this warm loft is a compilation of materials, which encompasses steel, wood, Corian and plaster, which adds an astounding character to the spaces. The entryway, the material elements are shown as raw and as you travel through the loft they become increasingly more sophisticated and meticulous. An interesting design element in the loft is a ladder on a rail system which travel throughout the whole length of the structure. Another beautiful element is the custom designed shelf under the television in the living room. It is a live edge shelf comprised of walnut, designed and built by Wishbone Woodworking.
An exposed brick wall adds to the lofty feel of the space. The wall has a unique visual interest with linear custom cabinetry running the full length of the room. The shelving and cabinets are comprised of blackened steel and walnut, a stunning combination. This also creates lots of space to showcase the homeowner’s collection of books and add some personality with some decorative items.
