Hornstein Residence project is the full renovation of a 1969 ranch home designed by Design Platform, located in the city of Cherry Hills Village, Arapahoe County, Colorado. The classic ranch-style exterior features an extended gable roof with original hanging exterior pendants. The slant of this ranch style is slightly midcentury. The color scheme has been updated to highlight the lush landscape. There is a custom designed and built front door made from Mahogany and Maple. The interior renovations includes a brand new layout with kitchen, living room with see thru fireplace to the outside patio and a master bedroom suite.
A brand new sitting room features oak floors and large expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows to draw nature in, creating a very relaxing living environment… not to mention a fantastic spot to cozy up and read a great book or magazine, or perhaps hop on your laptop and check out the latest here on 1 Kindesign!
A custom designed kitchen features glossy white lower cabinets with natural walnut upper cabinets. The walnut wood was also used in the central island, with an engineered white stone countertop, adding a nice visual contrast to the space.
Sunlight abounds in this open-concept, updated ranch house. The interior features a minimalist and modern design scheme. Skylights have been incorporated into the ceiling to help illuminate the neutral and organic style of the main living area.
A brand new eat-in breakfast nook features a bright orange light fixture by Kartell lighting overhead.
The oversize windows and sliders add to the modern aesthetic. The double-sided fireplace with custom trim surround nods to the 70’s style that was trending when the house was built. There is a dining room and sitting room beyond.
The media center has been designed with a retro style.
A new master bedroom suite feature a custom designed barn door that is used to close off a closet that was converted into a small home office and the master bathroom. The master bathroom features a floating vanity.
The new master bathroom showcases a stunning custom walnut vanity with Rubinet R10 plumbing fixtures in a matte white hue. In the glass-enclosed tile shower you will notice a curbless trough drain.
The last part of the renovation encompassed a new outdoor patio area. This space features a see thru fireplace with a custom stainless surround. Teak patio furniture decorates this outdoor living space.
