Nestled on a hilltop property, this modern dream home designed by McClean Design enjoys sweeping views over the Sunset Strip, a desirable area in Los Angeles, California. The home is set on a long and narrow lot, where the dominant view was only available from one side of the property. To work around this, the architects devised a solution that involved creating a compound of three structures. This includes a main house, garage and wellness as well as an incredible guest house.
When visitors pass through the gate, they are greeted by a landscaped hedge that leads to a drive court, centrally positioned between the three structures. The garage is set in a spot that boasts jaw-dropping views of the surrounding canyons, so the architects maximized these views by integrating glazing on both sides. All three of the structures are linked by a water feature, which visually connects you to the views and main entry.

What We Love: This modern dream home offers sleek, clean lines and expansive walls of glass that boasts amazing views. The water feature at the front entryway adds a touch of Zen to this home and we love how you can view it from the main living spaces. The overall design is minimal yet has an inviting feel with the fantastic indoor-outdoor connection thanks to extensive glazing throughout… Readers, what are your thoughts, do you find this home to be too modern to feel livable or is this your idea of the perfect dream home?
