We are loving this beautiful two-story cottage in Barcelona, Spain that features splendid views of the sky and sea thanks to the remarkable transformation by architect Joan Arnau Farr, from the design studio 05 AM Arquitectura. A private shaded terrace was created that has direct access into the salon. Dividing partitions were removed from the ground floor interior to create a light and airy spacious feel and better improve the traffic flow through the residence. In the hallway, a large living area with access to the kitchen and a study was achieved without a front foyer and corridors.
The coatings were another key to the project, due to its high decorative value. The white walls, wide planked oak flooring and colorful decor adds to the brightness of the house, guiding the eye outwards. A gray hue is present in all environments, for aesthetic and visual cohesion. Two large sliding panels were added to the salon to separate for privacy from the kitchen and study when necessary. A stairway leads to the upstairs bedrooms. The master retreat features built-in wardrobes and a private terrace. The children’s room has an independent study area adjoined as part of the remodel. What do you think of this spectacular transformation, was it a success? Via
