Indiana Jones inspired house

This incredible 6,000 square-foot compound can found right in the middle of the crowded streets of Venice Beach, California. This Moroccan-style palace was inspired and created by Phillip Dixon in 1995, through his trips around the world shooting fashion spreads. The home belongs to both Dixon and Veronique Vial who is an art photographer and has published several books. The compound features walls that are so high that all you can see is a couple of telephone poles and some palm trees to give a sense of locality, yet it seems to be worlds away. The three-bedroom home includes a photography studio with natural light and a river-like pool runs through the main rooms, The indoor and outdoor space seems to blend seamlessly into one another. The consistent feel of the home is not lost even in the kitchen, which has modern appliances but looks like it belongs to another place and time. Via
