Brandon Architects, in partnership with Morrison Interiors, has designed this contemporary Spanish-style home in the charming Dover Shores neighborhood of Newport Beach, California. Designed for a couple with three young children, this 5,800-square-foot dream home is nestled on a steeply sloping site that borders a nature preserve at the back of the property.
This enabled the architects to design a daylit basement and take advantage of the views from the main living spaces and the owner’s bedroom. However, the steep terrain also posed a challenge for the architects, limiting the height of various areas in the house yet creating a visually striking design on both the interior and exterior. The designer was tasked with crafting living spaces that best reflected the owner’s lifestyle needs and design aesthetic.

The designer selected furnishings that would pay homage to the Spanish style, such as the entry console table and the arched built-in cabinetry in the living room.

Each space has fresh and creative ideas, while the architectural details throughout this home boast unique and custom moments. Overall, we love every detail in this house, from the eye-catching backsplash tile in the kitchen to the elegant staircase design.
