What We Love: This mountain retreat offers comfortable living spaces that are warm and functional for both family living and entertaining. The neutral color palette, along with the texture and patterns, takes its cue from the serenity and calm inspired by this home’s natural surroundings. Large windows frame breathtaking views, seamlessly blending the indoors with the beauty of nature. Overall, the project team did a fabulous job of creating a warm and inviting mountain retreat that enjoys the tranquility of the surrounding rugged terrain.

Note: Have a look at a couple of our favorite home tours that we have featured here on One Kindesign in Northern California: Insanely beautiful mountain modern home in the Sierra Mountains and Cozy mountain retreat with Scandinavian vibe on beautiful Lake Tahoe.
From the roofline to natural materials such as hickory and locally sourced Montana stone to floor-to-ceiling windows, every detail was selected to invite nature inside.

Above: A custom-fabricated pendant cluster by Niche Modern is suspended over the kitchen island. This space also features a 12-foot-long island and a houndstooth-patterned backsplash.
Above: Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase magnificent views in the dining room. A large dining room seats up to 16 guests around a table by Clubcu. Suspended above the table is a 16.8 Bocci Pendant designed by Omer Arbel for Bocci, a nod to nature.

Above: In the great room, the light sculpture on the wall next to the fireplace is a custom design by Aldo Bernardi. Although this home’s design is clean and restrained, it has rugged elements such as exposed rafters and beams.
Above: A glass wall in the great room soaks in the forested views and beyond towards the golf course and ski hills.
Above: A media room offers a touch of playful color, featuring an adjustable Roche Bobois sofa.
Above: A Passion 4 Wood chandelier hangs above the bedroom. A pair of chairs in front of the bed are covered in Kravet fabric.
Above: The bathroom offers a spa-like oasis courtesy of a relaxing soaker tub and stunning details such as the “Sienna Silver” travertine countertops by Walker Zanger and wood-and-resin knobs in “Frosted Timber” from Anthropologie.
Above: The boy’s bunk bedroom features a rope ladder that leads to a secret play space. This space takes advantage of a wasted cavity in the ceiling.
Above: The patio features sliding Weiland Doors to create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. This is one of the best spots to soak in the stunning scenery while relaxing on the Dedon MBRACE wing chair and ottoman.
