We see sparkling white kitchens everywhere, and they do look beautiful; however, have you considered instead a dramatic and chic black kitchen that can be just as functional and just as aesthetically pleasing? A space dressed in black is very timeless and sophisticated, not to mention it can create a cozy living environment with a lot of added warmth. This would be ideal for cooking family meals and entertaining guests!
What’s even better, is that you do not have to design your kitchen in straight-out black to make a strong visual impact. Since black is a neutral hue, it can be incorporated in many ways, from all black to adding accents of white, brass, gold, and even pink! In the image above, the mostly white kitchen was softened with white flooring, perimeter marble countertops, and backsplash. The vibrant green plant on the countertop really adds an extra pop of color to the space; greenery is always in style!

Above: For this kitchen, past water damage on the kitchen’s wood floor brought around a clever design solution: large-scale, in-laid marble hex tile that keeps a seamless floor transition, brightens up the space, and adds contrast to the otherwise dark kitchen. Yellow industrial bar stools add a pop of color while relating back to the eclectic, urban feel of the rest of the condo design.
