MHK Architecture together with the Stillwater Group has designed this gorgeous lake house overlooking Lake Keowee in the community of The Reserve at Lake Keowee, South Carolina. For the homeowners, a couple who reside in Florida, the goal for their dream retreat was to create an accessible home where they could age in place and a space to host and entertain family and friends.
From an aesthetic standpoint, they wanted a different exterior that would stand out. The home features an elevated great room with expansive windows in the front and back, providing a sight line through the house. It feels like you’re outside when spending time indoors. There is a lake room that serves as a drop room for wet clothes after a long day on the water.
