Decadently designed, Luna2 Private Hotel is a contemporary sixties-inspired, space-age, funky luxury villa in Bali, Indonesia. Occupying a prime position on the Seminyak beachfront, the villa is enclosed within walled gardens and overlooks the shimmering sands. Whilst your senses are being pampered, your synapses are continually stimulated by the astonishing interior design. The retro space-age villa, named after the first spacecraft on the moon, was created by the owner, Melanie Hill, in collaboration with Maryland-based architect David Wahl to create the ‘funked up modernist’ interiors, inspired by icon Richard Neutra’s sharp-suited buildings.
The entry is adjacent to a pond that surrounds the ground level and its’ sunken living room. Custom-made furniture sits cheek-by-jowl with iconic chairs by Harry Bertoia and Philippe Starck in this five-room, retro-radical party pad with Pop Art touches. The upper level features ponds that surround the exterior decks. Take a dip with Marilyn Monroe, whose glam image – recreated in Bisazza mosaic tiles – adorns the bottom of the sleekly linear 20-metre pool, which offers serene sea views. Sunseekers should sprawl on the poolside loungers or lawn; shade-fanciers can recline in the two covered relaxation areas decked out with yellow day-beds and charcoal-grey modular seating. Beachfront access means the ocean is only steps away.
Luna2 has all the benefits of a luxury hotel, from daily housekeeping to butlers and concierges, to the à la carte restaurant service. Yet it’s also a private home-from-home where you can set your own agenda and do whatever you want. A group of friends might look forward to non-stop, over-indulgent partying, but it’s also a great place for families, packed with entertainments from the iPods to the Xbox.
This luxury private villa sleeps 10 with rates from $3,000 per night, from here.
