McGregor Homes together with Kelsey Leigh McGregor have designed this inviting English-inspired spec home tucked away in the picturesque woodsy neighborhood of Cottage Grove, located in Edmond, Oklahoma. After the completion of this dwelling, the project team dubbed it “the treehouse” because of its magical views.
This walkout basement floor plan is situated on a sloping lot, which allows the first floor of the home to sit above the tree line, overlooking the treetops. Encompassing 3,265 square feet of living space, this gorgeous home boasts four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Continue below to see more of this dreamy home tour…
Above: The light fixtures over the kitchen island are the Gunther pendant light in aged old bronze by Hudson Valley Lighting. The counter stools are the Linon Rae rattan seat backless bar stool.
Above: This space features innovative storage solutions. The microwave cleverly tucked away and built into the island beneath the glass dishware, effectively reducing visual clutter. The dark blue cabinetry is painted in the shade “After Midnight” by Kelly-Moore, complemented by the sleek elegance of Charcoal-gray Negresco granite countertops and backsplash. Enhancing the overall aesthetic, a vibrant red runner from Radi’s Rugs adds the perfect blend of beauty and charm.
Need To Know: The designer sells the plans and complete resource list, including helpful kitchen cabinetry solutions, the mirror wall installation guide, and the minimalist stair design on her website โ No. 4 – Treehouse.
What We Love: Blending vintage-modern aesthetics, this inviting home in Oklahoma exudes a dramatic ambiance that balances luxury with coziness. Embracing a moody atmosphere, the kitchen and study come alive with drama, transforming everyday activities into artistic experiences, thanks to a rich, dark paint palette. Overall, we are loving so many details in this home, but the kitchen is simply stunning.

Above: The dining room features a custom made mirror wall, helping to reflect as much natural light throughout the home as possible.. This dynamic space beautifully closes the gap between the living and kitchen areas, creating a harmonious flow through the open floor plan. Thependant lights over the dining table are the Aspen Hanging Pendants from Visual Comfort.
Above: The chandelier in the living room is the Troy Lighting F6305 Sawyer – Five Light Chandelier. The leather chairs are the Emmett Dakota Tobacco Leather Sling Chair from Four Hands. The ottomans are the Isadora Square Woven Pet Polyester Pouf. On top of the coffee table is a white marble chain from Bloomist. Grounding this space is the Loloi Georgie antique area rug.
The designer maximized the natural light throughout the space, capitalizing on the view and stunning windows. However, since the living rooms’ surrounding windows flooded the area with light, the styling had to be just as powerful and layered to anchor the space. The end result is a home with deliberate tones, textures, and layers, creating an atmosphere that feels collected, rather than just decorated.
Above: These built-ins blend seamlessly with the rest of the design of the home and help maximize space that otherwise could have been wasted.
