Studio Fuse is responsible for the creation of this timber-clad luxury eco-home that integrates design with nature, located in the coastal village of Bosham, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom. This home is divided into two individual structures. A single-story section hovers over a natural swimming pond that connects to the two-story section via a glass link that floats over the water.
The middle section of the dwelling boasts soaring, triple-height ceilings over the dining area and floating balconies on both levels that take advantage of the views through double-height glazing. This space also assists with solar gains and passive ventilation. The entire residence is bright and airy with a sleek and neutral interior throughout.
This project won the very prestigious Residential Award in the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards 2022 and has been featured in Channel 4’s Grand Designs. It is also available as a self-catering retreat that embodies wellness architecture called “Terrarium”.
This dwelling sits on a 1.5-acre site, falling within the context of both an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Being close to and enhancing this naturally beautiful landscape was at the core of the project’s principles.
