This Colorado mountain home, designed by Plaad Office, is nestled slopeside in the exclusive, ski-in/ski-out Lewis Ranch neighborhood of Copper Mountain. Rather than following the area’s typical “mountain modern” playbook, the architects developed a hybrid of true timber-frame and traditional construction, featuring exposed solid-timber trusses that anchor the living, dining, and kitchen spaces.
The material palette remains deliberately restrained to three elements: a stone lower level, vertical spruce siding, and a bonderized standing-seam roof. Unique milk house light fixtures accent the exterior timber framing and antiqued concrete finish of this 7,155-square-foot, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home.
As a nod to the Copper Mountain lifestyle and its name, copper fixtures and details can be found throughout this exquisite dwelling. Continue below to view the rest of this incredible home…

Lewis Ranch is one of Copper Mountain’s most exclusive enclaves — a gated, ski-in/ski-out community built directly at the base of the Lumberjack chairlift, where homeowners can step out the door and click into their skis. It’s a fitting setting for a home designed to accommodate nearly thirty guests at once, and one that earned the Summit County Builder’s Association’s “Best Overall Home” honor in 2019.
