This cozy mountain retreat was designed by Walton Architecture and built by NSM Construction, located in the community of Martis Camp, in Lake Tahoe, California. This getaway for a family of six was selected for its ideal proximity from Los Angeles, to be used for long weekends and extended vacations. Martis Camp offers year-round amenities, with world-class skiing in the winter and a beach, tennis court and Tom Fazio-designed golf course to be enjoyed throughout the summer.
Boasting five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathroom, this home is spread out over one and a half stories. The kids bunkroom and bath are located above the garage. The architects designed this home to stretch horizontally across the site in order to maximize southern exposure and mountain vistas. Inside this dream house retreat, the interiors are grand but simple. You will find soaring ceilings and expansive windows, framing unforgettable views of the surrounding beauty.
Interior designer Julie-Johnson Holland created a cozy feeling throughout, while inviting nature inside through expansive windows. What We Love: This cozy mountain retreat offers large windows that do most of the talking, inviting the beauty of nature inside. Walls of glass that completely disappear brings in the fresh mountain air. Crisp, clean lines helps to not detract from the magnificent views. The interior living spaces are warm and welcoming, with layers of texture from the stone to the barnwood. With plenty of lighting options throughout, this home will be well-lit throughout the shorter winter months… Readers, please share what details in this home caught your eye and why in the Comments below!
