beach-style-entry

This warm and inviting home was designed for a family of four by Eric Olsen Design in collaboration with Regan Baker Design, located in Orange County, a prominent suburban region in Southern California. This dwelling enjoys an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, soaking in the fabulous California sunshine.

The homeownerโ€™s deep love of color and pattern is reflected throughout the home, creating a bright, layered, and playful palette. Architectural elements and textures extend from the exterior to the interior, infusing traditional elements such as brick walls into the modern silhouette of the structure. A custom built-in bench, custom upholstered in Sunbrella fabric, creates a casual feel in the dining nook, which adds a contemporary and fresh approach to the space, also creating an intimate separation from the open main living space. Earthy dark green Blu Dot chairs with a visible wood grain relate visually to the millwork in the nearby kitchen, while the oak Clad Home dining table brings in a layer of warmth and durability. French artist Poukeฬ Halpernt’s La Saison Des Melons, sourced by HANG ART, completes the space with its complementary color palette.

At its base, large drawers offer additional storage space for tucking away extra linens, blankets, and toys. A recessed track offers a seamless transition between the patterned curtains and bunk bed frame, while leather straps introduce a subtle contrast and easy method for tying the curtains back. Grounding this space, an artistic geometric rug with fun jewel-toned shapes and a green Nugget sofa bring extra personality, color, and cozy texture.
