This newly built home by DeGrappo Builders together with Kitchen Cove Design Co. is set on Cider Mill Pond, a small pond surrounded by forest in North Berwick, Maine. The interiors of this home are a true reflection of the owner’s bold personality, their love of wood tones, and grandeur design. This 4,400-square-foot residence boasts cathedral ceilings throughout, mixed metals, and daring design elements that entice the eye.

The large custom metal hood creates an obvious focal point that anchors the kitchen in the expansive and open floor plan. Just off the kitchen, the daring and decorated butler’s pantry serves as wonderful food storage and a second clean up area for the homeowners who enjoy filling their home with their children and grandchildren. A mix of cabinetry finishes is spread throughout and topped with exotic stone, each room fulfilling different aspects of the clients’ vast design aesthetic.

Above: The laundry room is in a shared space with the mudroom and is visible as you first walk in the most commonly used entrance. For this reason, it was important to make it function well but also look visually neat and aesthetically pleasing. A simple run of cabinetry topped with dark leathered granite serves in a very practical but beautiful way for the owner couple. The contemporary painting on the shelf is by artist Sarah Madeira Day. The cabinetry hardware is from Tob Knobs. The tile in the dog wash station is from Tile Bar. The Steele Canvas Basket is from Crate & Barrel.
