This elegant modern farmhouse was designed for family living by Studio Ganz, nestled in idyllic Happy Valley, a neighborhood in Lafayette, California. On the exterior facade of this spacious dwelling, classic crisp white board-and-batten siding is paired with black-framed windows and a standing seam metal roof. For the backyard, indoor-outdoor entertaining is effortless thanks to bi-fold windows that seamlessly connect the elegant kitchen to the rear patio.

The siding is painted in the designer’s favorite shade of white — White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore. The windows were sourced from Sierra Pacific Windows. Above: On the front porch, a pair of Adirondack rocking chairs are from Loll Designs. The Fresno long wall sconces are from Visual Comfort. At the end of the porch, a family favorite for curling up, a hanging daybed from The Porch Swing Company.

Above: The entry console table, along with a coffee table in the living room and the front porch columns, are all custom fabricated from charred oak wood that was salvaged from a past California wildfire. All of the pieces were crafted by Arbor Upcycle. The backdrop of mirrors were sourced from Pottery Barn, while the stools are from Room & Board.
