Large granite stepping stones lead visitors through an opening in a low stone wall to the front entry door, beginning a series of framed views and spatial connections through the dwelling. At the entry, a large glass fold-in creates a garden at once inside and outside.

At its heart, this dwelling is a means of blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces in a relaxed and unassuming manner.

Encompassing 3,300 square feet of living space, this abode provides a sanctuary from the waves of the nearby Atlantic Ocean and direct visual and physical connections to the surrounding terrain.

What We Love: This beautiful home offers its inhabitants open and airy living spaces focused on comfort. Designed with family living in mind, the designers took the opportunity to decorate with stylish furnishings that offer a relaxed vibe. Farmhouse details can be found throughout the design of this home, adding a warm and inviting feel. We are especially loving the sunroom, which is connected to the living room via an operable glass wall system. This would be a fabulous spot to lounge with family or entertain guests.

Tell Us: What are your thoughts, are there any details in this home that you would like to have seen done differently in the design of this home? Please tell us in the Comments!

On one side of the living space, large glass panels open to the screened-in porch with views of the forest beyond. At the opposite end a smaller, more intimate seating area offers refuge, anchored against a granite fireplace and cedar wall.

The material palette in this home takes its cue from the surrounding site and a “no-maintenance” approach– cedar, stone, and glass—is left to weather and age beautifully.
