A Parallel Architecture together with Stewart Custom Homes has designed this sensational lake house nestled along the water’s edge of Lake Austin, Texas. The design concept originated from the desire to establish logic and order on the flat site through the architectural definition of use-patterns that offer both a sense of refuge and scale for its occupants.

The result is a well-ordered Cartesian framework, characterized by porous and flexible infill walls. These walls can transform hourly and seasonally as needed to take advantage of the lakeside setting and respond to environmental factors.

Expansive covered patios, decks, and a balcony promenade seamlessly integrate with this framework, creating sheltered outdoor pathways that invite further exploration.

What We Love: This Lake Austin house features incredible details, from the attractive material palette on the exterior facade to the amazing central staircase. We love the expansive walls of glazing that capture the idyllic water views and the gorgeous landscaping surrounding this home. Despite the modern interiors, the team did a fantastic job of infusing warmth with the use of wood on the ceiling and all the natural light.
