This organic and timeless house has undergone a complete transformation by Colette Interiors, located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The homeowner comprises a family of six, including four young children. The project team’s objective was to establish an inviting yet sophisticated area that prioritizes relaxed comfort.
Embracing an organic modern design aesthetic, the designer incorporated elements such as warm woods, Moroccan tiles, over-grouted stone, and a rich variety of layers and textures. To provide a sleek foundation for art, styling, and décor, we utilized paneling with v-groove and tongue & groove on ceilings, walls, and backsplashes.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges, resulting in delays in furnishings. The project team patiently awaited the arrival of their custom upholstered sofas for the living room, which took a year, along with other prolonged delays for various furnishings and finishes.
Among the distinctive features of the space, the breakfast nook held a special place. By modernizing it, the designer achieved a seamless and organic transition between the living and kitchen areas, enhancing the overall natural flow.
