Allard + Roberts Interior Design in collaboration with M.S. Hammett Construction has completely reimagined a fabulous lake house retreat situated on Lake Lure, North Carolina. Purchased as a vacation home for three generations of family, the dwelling underwent an incredible transformation.
Upon their initial walkthrough, the design team encountered fireplaces clad with hefty stone and a Guest Suite that could only be accessed by passing through another bedroom. The exterior renovations included new paint, roof, railings, lighting and an entry door. Continue below to see the rest of the tour along with the “Before” pictures!
With meticulous attention to detail, the entire residence was completely overhauled to preserve its best existing features while revamping outdated or non-functional elements. Drawing inspiration from the original Living Room ceiling, wood finishes were used throughout the interior living spaces.
Both fireplaces were transformed with plaster cladding, while the furnishings throughout were updated for modern living. The scope of this project entailed a full-scale renovation of the Kitchen, Living, Dining, Porch, Family Room, Owner’s Bedroom Suite, and Guest Bedroom and Bathrooms.
Now, all three generations of family come together at the lake, creating cherished memories and enjoying delightful meals in this refreshed and inviting environment.

BEFORE THE RENOVATION
Can you tell me what the exterior color is? I’m guessing it might be SW Iron Ore or SW Urbane Bronze….
