This classic New England shingle-style home with sophisticated interiors was designed by Shope Reno Wharton Architecture in the rural setting of Wellesley, Massachusetts. The goal of this project was to create comfortable living spaces where family and friends could gather, but also have spaces for relaxing and quiet contemplation.
Nestled on a lush property, the exterior facade of this dwelling features Western Red Cedar shingles mixed with New England Fieldstone, along with three large stone chimneys, copper trimmings, and beautiful terraced gardens. This home boasts plenty of fabulous features, including an indoor basketball court, a rock climbing wall, a home cinema, a home gym, a golf simulator, and a backyard spa.

The interior designer’s goal for this project was to add elegant touches to the stately architecture, keeping mindful to make living spaces feel approachable for family living. The interior palette feels serene with earthy materials and touches of color. The designer has applied organic textures that include reclaimed wood and stone, which adds warmth, while materials such as a leather wall bring a hint of sophistication.

On the upper level are the private bedrooms of the home, where occupants can retreat after a long day. A high priority of the homeowners was for the kids to have space for study and reading, along with comfortable areas where they can hang out with their friends. Each of their bedrooms was designed to include a study nook.
