MMW Architects has designed this lakeside cabin retreat that is nestled on a serene cove near the southern end of Lindbergh Lake in the Swan Valley. This getaway was created for three generations of family who gather together in Montana to enjoy quality time.
The goals for the cabin were to blend in from the road, fully embrace the lake, and create gathering spaces for the family to congregate, while simultaneously sleeping 18 people.
The shape of the site suggested a home that wraps around the water. Due to the grade change from the road, the house appears to be just a single story. However, as one moves through the home, the changes in topography create a home that groups use per floor and steps down with the land.
Big picture windows open to the wilderness beyond, while the space inside this rustic getaway home creates a snug respite.
What We Love: This cozy rustic cabin provides an extended family the opportunity to gather together under one roof and make lasting memories. Large walls of glass help to bathe the interiors with natural light while capturing idyllic views of the surrounding beauty of nature. Overall, we think this would be a wonderful getaway to spend time in the great outdoors while enjoying the company of family throughout the seasons.
