This beautiful house has undergone an interior makeover by Kelsey Leigh Design with an English Revival style focus, located in Edmond, Oklahoma. The goal of this project was to create a backdrop for balancing both beauty and function for family living. The pairing of old with new in many of the design elements, including a 200-year-old vintage Italian marble stone sink used in the powder bathroom.
Vintage modern is a signature style of the interior designers brand and this gorgeous home is a shining example of that. For the interior scheme of this home, the designer opted for an earthy palette inspired by nature. Living spaces integrate hues of brown, beige, red, and green. Creating balance and harmony in this home was a top priority for the designer.
Above: There are a lot of curves and soft lines in this beautiful living room — including the furnishings, the brass chandelier, and the built-ins flanking the fireplace. The white tongue and groove ceiling add a customized detail to this space, as do the arched bookcases created from an archway low-cost framing kit sourced from Archways and Ceilings.
The designer focused on introducing elements that would give this home a collected feel with personality and character. The light fixtures throughout this home function as art. The overall look has a timeless appeal.
What We Love: This house in Oklahoma provides a wonderful family-focused makeover full of gorgeous details throughout. From statement light fixtures to the mixing of metals, textures, and an earthy color palette, the overall aesthetics are warm and inviting. When selecting light fixtures, the designer mixed vintage with timeless elements. The designer prefers to select one finish for light fixtures such as gold but will layer in black hardware and chrome plumbing for an aesthetically pleasing look.

Above: The kitchen features red oak cabinetry paired with a Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble backsplash. Here, the plaster hood and the upper cabinetry are painted in the same white hue, providing balance to the earthy red oak wood. Tip: If you paint the walls and cabinets in the same color you should use different finishes. Here, eggshell was used on the walls, while the trim and cabinetry are in a satin finish.
Above: In the powder room, the textured walls are painted in a green hue — Cast Iron SW 6202 – Sherwin-Williams. This space is decorated with vintage touches, including floral artwork, an ornate antique gold mirror, and a 200-year-old vessel sink sourced from an antique store.
Above: Highlights of this inviting bedroom include a reclaimed wood barn door that leads into the bathroom along with a woven, beaded chandelier on the ceiling. Designer Tip: Select light fixtures for your home that create a “wow” factor. They are said to be “the jewelry of the home” and provide the finishing touch.
Above: The color palette of this space is in warm, earthy tones — browns, grays, and reds. Overall, this space offers a beautiful aesthetic while being very approachable for family living.
Above: The bathroom exudes a spa-like feel that is warm and inviting. This space features red oak cabinetry, vintage-inspired art, and a woven chandelier over the freestanding tub.
The floral artwork uses an impasto technique — an Italian word for “mixture”. A painting technique where the paint is thickly laid on a surface so that the brushstrokes are visible. This bright and textural look pops against the neutral backdrop.
