This beautiful Colonial-style family home was renovated by interior designer Courtney Thomas in collaboration with Goldin Construction, located in La Cañada, California. The owners wanted to adapt the home’s layout to match the needs of their family to accommodate fun, pet-friendly features, and loads of family time.
The scope of this project includes a pantry space that was transformed into an airy, quiet home office that also accommodates canine companionship. The living room was reconfigured to make way for more playful pursuits and games. An outdoor bathroom was added so wet feet won’t make “inside-the-house” messes.
The kitchen was reimagined with a large island and eat-in breakfast area that opens to the family room, making it an idyllic gathering space for the family.
“The power of design is that it evolves over time and can reflect someone’s life story,” states the designer. The design has the ability to take someone on a journey, and by reimagining this home, the designer honored the former owners’ history while guiding the new owners to embark on a wonderful new journey of their own.
What We Love: This beautifully reimagined Colonial home in California provides a warm and inviting living environment for family living. Light-filled living spaces are warm, comfortable, and family-friendly. We are especially loving the radiant kitchen with its crisp, clean aesthetics, large island, and spacious breakfast table for the family to gather.
